FAMILY MAN

Before anything else, I’m a husband and father. My wife, Chavalle’, and our son, Michael Jr., are my why. They’re the reason I get up early, work late, and keep moving forward even when life gets messy. Every success I’ve had — from the stage to the page — starts with the love and support I find at home.

The Roller Coaster Moment

It was a moment at Hersheypark’s Lightning Racer that would inspire The One Click Mindset.

I was just trying to fit on a roller coaster again — but in that instant, I realized the power of one small change. Just one click of the lab bar made all the difference between watching from the sidelines and riding the ride. That “click” became my metaphor for transformation in every area of life.

The Biggest Loser & the Big Lesson

In 2012, I stepped onto the set of NBC’s The Biggest Loser in Calabasas, California with the dream of losing weight and regaining my health. I walked away with more than I could have imagined — not just a transformation on the scale, but a transformation in mindset.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that I hadn’t fully learned the lessons. I thought I had… but I didn’t. That’s why the weight eventually came back.

Over the years, I came to understand that real breakthroughs don’t come from perfection. They come from showing up, taking the next step, and refusing to quit — even when the cameras stop rolling and the applause fades.

From Stage Lights to a Hospital Bed

At first, my why had been about getting on roller coasters again and enjoying life’s thrills. But as the years passed, it became about something much bigger.

Years later, I found myself close to 600 pounds and facing serious health challenges. This photo was taken during that season — just before a hospital stay that forced me to face the reality of where my life was headed.

Lying in that hospital bed, hooked up to IVs, I wondered if I’d ever get the chance to see my family again. In that quiet room, I promised myself — and God — that if I got another chance, I’d live it fully, on purpose, and in service to others.

That moment reshaped everything about how I show up in the world. It became the turning point where I stopped chasing moments and started building a mission.

Faith at the Center

Faith isn’t something I practice only on Sundays — it’s the lens I look through every day.

When I talk about The One Click Mindset, I’m talking about the moments when life feels impossible, and something deep inside whispers, “Keep going.” For me, that voice is God.

From TV stages to hospital rooms to writing this book, my journey has been carried by the promise that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).

You don’t have to share my exact faith to find your breakthrough. But when you anchor your life to something greater than yourself — whether that’s God, your calling, or your mission — you’ll find the courage to click into your next chapter, even when the track ahead feels uncertain.

Looking Ahead

The One Click Mindset is just the beginning.

Through my speaking, coaching, and writing, I’m building what I call the CLICK Nation — a movement of people committed to overcoming barriers, taking ownership, and thriving in every season of life. Whether you’ve been here from the start or you’re just getting connected, I’m glad you’re here.
